Morgan Ainsley is a composer based in Sydney, Australia with a passion for transporting people to other worlds through sound.
While she has written music for a range of projects, video games are at the centre of her practice. Whether it be a high speed chase in a vast metropolis, a challenging puzzle in a dark dungeon, or fighting the fae in an enchanted forest, game audio offers Morgan the opportunity to world-build with sound, giving imaginary places a sense of weight and presence. You’ll often find her browsing ArtStation for environmental concept art to inspire her next track.
Working with audio middleware tools such as Wwise and FMOD, Morgan creates interactive game music that goes beyond a basic loop. Exploring the potential of this has led her to create some of her own small game projects in Unity and Twine, as well as writing a brief guide to connecting Unity and FMod.
Deeply embedded within the Australian indie game development scene, Morgan is currently working on a number of unreleased indie titles including Insignia from studio Uppon Hill. You can explore her work here.
